ORGANISATIONAL SUCCESS AND IMPORTANT SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS
With the day excursion to the Peloponnese on Thursday 23 September 2021, the joint annual scientific conferences of iarigai and IC were completed. The conferences were organized by the Hellenic Association of Graphic Arts Technology Graduates – HELGRAMED, in collaboration with the Graphic Arts Technology and Visual Communication Media Research Laboratory of the University of West Attica – GRAPHMEDLAB.
Over 50 scientific papers were presented, along with quite important presentations by the top guest speakers. Both iarigai’s 47th annual conference, “Printing in the Digital Era”, focusing on developments in graphic arts science and technology, printing and packaging in the modern digital era, and IC’s 52nd conference, “Print Education – Challenges in an Uncharted World”, focusing on research and contemporary developments in graphic arts education – printing and packaging defined the current field of developments and innovations in industry and research.
Innovative technologies and business environments, trends for the development of the industry, scientific outcomes as well as the necessity of modern education in our industries were highlighted. Keynote and presentations from our researchers and scientists, demonstrated the cutting edge of scientific, technological, business and educational scope of our industries in relation to digital transformation, circular economy and sustainability, modern production and advanced workflows, revealing the new environment in which the modern graphic arts – printing and packaging industry is called upon to operate in the post-covid-19 era.
As HELGRAMED, undertook a high risk due to covid-19 and the pandemic. Along the way, we found that all colleagues in Greece and abroad were willing to participate with physical presence. By strictly keeping all measures to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, we managed to carry out this project safely for everyone. Therefore, we are really proud to organize this important event and it is worth noting that the two conferences are among the first in the world to be held in person.
